An innovative leather developed jointly by Dutch company Eco Leather, which supplies leather to world-renowned fashion houses, and DSM, the creator of Dyneema®—a high-strength polyethylene fiber. Dyneema® is used in bulletproof vests and climbing ropes, and is considered one of the world's strongest fibers, capable of withstanding harsh environments. By bonding this Dyneema®—thinned to an extreme thickness of 0.4–0.6mm—with premium cowhide, it eliminates the drawback that “thin leather equals weak leather” without compromising the inherent texture of leather. This achieves an unprecedented ultimate hybrid leather that balances lightness and strength. Furthermore, Dyneema® Bonded Leather is a sustainable leather produced using the company's proprietary “DriTan” tanning technology. This process reduces annual water usage by approximately 25 million liters while minimizing wastewater discharge and chemical usage.
